Titolo: Visible + UV + SWIR imaging possible on Foveon camera?
Inserito da: Avalon il Venerdì, 25 Agosto 2023, 17:18:13
Foveon sensors have different sensor architecture and I wondered if they have enhanced sensitivity to infrared and ultraviolet spectrum? Maybe it would be possible to make sensor sensitivity even to a deeper infrared spectrum like SWIR? Silicon becomes transparent at this spectrum but there are some cameras that can pick up SWIR to a limited extent. I noticed Sigma SD14 had an easily removable IR/UV cut filter which is great for invisible spectrum enthusiasts and researchers. I would love to see such a feature in upcoming Foveon sensor cameras but I think mirrorless cameras would be better than DSLR and full frame cameras with good sensitivity similar to Sony A7s would be preferable.
